Establishing return-from-leave programs key to success

What percentage of employees in your organization go off on some type of leave every year? For many organizations, 100 per cent of their employees take some type of leave each year. Types of leave range from planned pregnancy and vacation leave to unplanned leave due to disability, accident or medical condition. It’s not uncommon for employers to track attendance, short and long-term disability, vacation time, and workers’ compensation claims. However, they often fail to have in place thoughtful return-to-work programs, either because they don’t have a clear business case or clarity on the tangible benefits.
