Cannabis in the workplace requires some planning

Is your organization prepared for the Cannabis Act and its impact on your workplace? A question like this will typically elicit a response of yes or no. The next question is why did you answer the way you did, based on what facts? If your response includes the preframe, “I think we are … ” it’s prudent to evaluate it to separate facts and opinions. Many employers are not considering that cannabis will be the first chemical of its kind to play two roles in society: a legal recreational alternative to alcohol and a drug that will be recommended by doctors to treat a medical condition.
